To help students to find a variety of books to read, here are book lists to peruse and links to local summer reading programs that offer incentives for reading and learning. I know that the students at Decatur are constantly looking for great books to read (not just in the summer!), so check back here during the year also!
Most HCC students are reading at least 1 grade level above their current grade. The booklists and reading lists below are not adapted for HCC. So an HCC student going into 2nd grade would probably find books at his/her level on the going into 3rd/4th grade lists. However, you will need to check that the content is suitable and appropriate.
